David Douglas was born in Creich, Fife, lived in Balbeggie, Perth and enlisted at Cowdenbesle. Serving with the Coldstream Guards he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 27 April 1915. With the 2nd Battalion, he was killed in action during the Gouzeaucort Cambrai withdrawal on 30 November 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial.
William E. Kirby was born in and enlisted at Preston, Lancashire. Serving with the Border Regiment, he entered the Balkan theatre of war on 10 December 1915. With the 9th Battalion he died in Salonika on 6 October 1918. Both with copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
