Thomas Blagrave, innkeeper of the Crown, the last dwelling on the north side of Threadneedle street. Blagrave took over the inn in 1663 and it was mentioned several times in Pepys’ Diary. Destroyed in the Fire, the tavern was quickly rebuilt and by the turn of the 18th century had become a coffee-house
