Harry Teanby was born in and enlisted at Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Serving with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. He was killed in action on 4 September 1914, aged 27 years. He was buried in the Guards Grave, Villers Cotterets Forest.
