William Frederick James Westlake was born in Bude, Cornwall on 27 November 1898. Served in the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry during the Great War. Appointed to the Calcutta Police on 1 February 1922. Appointed Inspector of Police in September 1932. With the Dock Police in September 1945. Latterly employed as a Post Office Telephonist, he died in Redhill General Hospital on 14 October 1977.
