1st The Royal Dragoons an Officer’s 1871 Pattern Helmet. The plated skull complete with gilt metal laurel sprays, oak leaf pattern spine and gilt metal trim, the plate of post 1902 pattern shows a beaded multi-rayed gilt star overlaid with a silver oval ‘The Royal Dragoons’ and in the centre on a plated ground the Royal Crest in gilt, complete with black horsehair plume, leather sweat band and pink linings, chin chain lined with red Moroccan, some gilt loss and requires cleaning overall
