Edward Taylor was born at Riverston, near Sligo, and attested for the 91st Foot at Glasgow on 8 June 1847. He served in the Mediterranean for 1 year 7 months, East Indies for 9 years 11 months, was promoted Corporal in December 1848, and Sergeant in June 1855. He was discharged in December 1868 having received his L.S. & G.C. medal and Gratuity of £15 in October 1865.
