Lieutenant A.P. Smith, 1st Volunteer Company (County Wing), Royal Warwickshire Regiment, served in South Africa 1900 to 1901. He performed duties of Railway Staff Officer. Operations in the Transvaal in May and June 1900 including actions near Johannesburg, Pretoria and Diamond Hill. Operations in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to 29 November 1900, including actions at Belfast. Promoted to Captain, 7th battalion, 15 November 1902.
