Indian Distinguished Service Medal, G.VI.R. (505369 A-Naik Sucha Singh, R.I.A.S.C.) complete with top suspension brooch, extremely fine £400-500

I.D.S.M. London Gazette 30 December 1941. The original recommendation states:

‘Whilst N.C.O. in charge of a Motor Transport Convoy embussing the 2/3rd Machine Gun Battalion, A.I.F., this convoy came under heavy artillery fire in the area south of Damascus Aeordrome. During the whole period of this bombardment this N.C.O. displayed outstanding coolness and courage. His prompt action in dispersing lorries and taking the fullest advantage of the surrounding available cover greatly reduced the casualties to both drivers and vehicles.’
