I.D.S.M. awarded 18 October 1930, for the North West Frontier. Harchand Singh was also mentioned in despatches for the North West Frontier 1930, London Gazette, 26 June, 1931. He served during the operations on the N.W. Frontier 1936-7 and was commissioned Jemadar 11 March 1939.
