A Crimean group of four awarded to General Edward Westby Donovan, 33rd Regiment, later Colonel of the East Yorkshire Regiment

General Donovan served with the 33rd Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854 and up to the 19 April 1855, including the battles of Alma and Inkermann, and siege of Sebastopol. He was severely wounded in the Trenches on 16 April, mentioned in despatches, London Gazette, 2 May, 1855, received the Brevets of Major and Lieutenant-Colonel, and was created Knight of the Legion of Honour, and 5th class of the Medjidie. Donovan was promoted General on 1 April, 1887, and Colonel of the East Yorkshire Regiment on 6 June 1891. He died in 1897.
