A Great War M.C. group of seven to 2nd Lieutenant J.W.O. Columbine, West Riding Regiment, a casualty at Paardeberg and one of 20 Warrant Officers in the regiment to win the M.C.

James William Oscar Columbine was wounded at the battle of Paardeberg, 18 February 1900, being Band Sergeant at the time. The award of the M.C. was announced in the London Gazette 1 January 1917, by which time he was Sergeant Major. He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.
