George McCann, a Weaver from Sago, Co. Armagh, served with the 3rd battalion, 95th Rifles from 8 May, 1805, to December, 1818, and subsequently in the Veteran Battalion until 21 May, 1826. He was discharged from the 95th to the Kilmainham Pension, in consequence of ‘long and severe service in the Peninsula and America and that he received a gun shot wound of the left breast in action near New Orleans, January 8th, 1814, whereby he is rendered unfit for further service.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
