Oliver Peacock was born in Magharafell, County Derry, and enlisted at Athlone on 11 July, 1800. He served in South America and during the whole of the Peninsula War. He received a wound from a musket ball, in the left knee, in action with the enemy, at the Storming of Badajoz on the 1st April, 1812. He was discharged, in consequence of a reduction in the strength of the regiment, on 24 August, 1821, in the rank of Sergeant. Sold with further research including copy discharge papers.
