Henry Grinter was born in the Parish of Hinton St. George, Crewkerne, Somerset, and enlisted for the Rifle Brigade on 15 March, 1858. He completed 25 years service in the rank of Private and was finally discharged at Winchester on 8 May, 1883. Sold with copy service papers and confirmation of all medals. See lot 416 for the medals awarded to his son.
