Jesse Withers was born in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, and enlisted into the South Wales Borderers on 2 October 1883. He served in the Burma campaign of 1885-87 (Medal and clasp), and in South Africa from January 1900 to March 1901 (Medal and 3 clasps). He was discharged on the termination of his second period of engagement on 3 June 1901. Sold with copy attestation and discharge papers.
