Hammer Price:
£350

25th (The King’s Own Borderers) Regiment, a very fine and scarce officer’s copper gilt shako plate c1861-1868, the usual QVC star pattern back plate and Garter Proper overlay but centrally with large gilt numerals mounted on a black leather ground, the Garter Proper is unpierced, a departure from the usual stencilled pattern (Bloomer Bk I No 77); together with an other ranks brass glengarry badge (KK460), brass loops E&W and appears to be an unissued example (2), the first item totally original and near mint condition, the second excellent condition £200-250
