Henry John Jennings was commissioned as a Lieutenant & Quarter-Master in the Middlesex Regiment in September 1951 and, following a period of attachment to the King’s Africa Rifles at the time of the Mau Mau troubles, served in the 11th (Territorial) Battalion, Parachute Regiment 1954-56, in which latter period he was advanced to Captain. He left the Army in 1959.
