Bucks & Oxon Union Bank, £1,000 Share certificate, 1853, printed by Blades East & Blades on black vellum, no.99, in the name of Horace Cuerton, Old Bank, Market Square, Aylesbury, Bucks, Gentleman, entered 8 April 1853, signed by Jno. Edw. Bartlett and Edward Cobb, directors, and A. Garriock, secretary; reverse with stamped receipt for £50, 1 July 1854, being the first call for the balance due, and a memorandum dated 14 November 1855, noting the transferral of the Share to Cuerton and Zacaharias Daniel Hunt of Aylesbury, banker, jointly; embossed seal at right. About very fine and very rare (£120-150)

Sold with a stamped and receipted letter from Cuerton, addressed to Richard Carter, esquire, Manager of the Bucks and Oxon Union Bank, Buckingham, reading “I request and authorize you to pay to Messrs Hughes Kearsey Masterman and Hughes or any one of them the Purchase money payable by you to me for the Share No.99 in the ‘Bucks and Oxon Union Bank’ and their or his receipt for the same shall be to you a sufficient discharge. Dated the 14th day of April 1859.”
The Bucks & Oxon Union Bank only issued 100 £1000 share certificates
