Major Sir Coles John Child, Bt (1906-71), of Bromley Palace, Kent and Mortlake, London; Lord of the Manor of Bromley; ADC to Governor-General of Canada, 1931-3; Lt Coldstream Guards, Reserve of Officers, Capt 1940, Major, 1941. Building on the skills he acquired during his time at Eton from 1919-25, Child won the Canadian Amateur Rackets singles and doubles titles in 1932 and 1933, and the doubles in 1934. Further biographical details are sold with the lot.
Cdr D’Arcy Lambton (1908-54), at Eton 1921-7, then Magdalen College, Oxford; he lived in London and his death was reported in The Times, 31 December 1954
