James I (1406-1437), Groat, First Fleur-de-lis issue, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, tressure of eight arcs, sceptre to left, lis and i by neck, i on neck, saltire on each shoulder, lis and saltire stops, rev. three large and one small pellet in first and fourth quarters, lis and pellet in second and lis, pellet and saltire in third quarter, lis in centre, lis stops, 1.94g/4h (cf. SCBI 35, 649; B 15, fig. 446; S 5195). Legends weak and reverse off-centre, otherwise good fine, rare (£200-250)
