James Brierley (†1691), lace buyer, also Quaker; his first wife’s name was Mary (†April 1676); he married secondly Thomasin Knight in June1676, in a ceremony at the Quaker meeting house in the neighbouring village of Sherington. Brierley, along with John Thornton of Newport Pagnell, served 3 months in Aylesbury gaol in 1664 for his religious beliefs (SCMB September 1974, p.284); he was also fined heavily for holding a religious meeting in the street in 1670. The date of his death given in BNJ 1973, p.122, is incorrect.
Moses Freeman (†November 1673), bonelace merchant; his wife’s name was Elizabeth (†October 1707)
