Percy Pressley was born in Bolsover, Derbyshire in 1894. In the 1911 Census he was listed as a Pony Driver at a coal mine, living with his parents and nine siblings at 13 Big Barn Lane, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. In the Great War he joined the 16th (1st City) ‘Pals’ Battalion Manchester Regiment. With them he earned the M.M. for his bravery in action at Zillebeke Bund in the 90th Brigade attack on 31 July 1917. With copied research.
