Samuel Mason served as a Sergeant Drummer during the operation on the North West Frontier, and was dangerously wounded by gunshot to the throat during the march from Bagh to Barkai on 13 December 1897. He was subsequently discharged invalided.
Sold together with various photographic images and an embroidered Drummer’s Badge.
