Walter Charteris Ross Fraser was born in Birdsall, Yorkshire. He served during the Great War with the 10th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment in the French theatre of war, from 10 September 1915. He suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh, 23/24 September 1915.
