Royal Irish Constabulary Officer’s Victorian Period Pouch Belt Plate, Pouch Badge and Whistle Guard, fine quality examples in die stamped hall marked silver, the pouch belt plate being a crowned strap ‘Royal Irish Constabulary’ incorporating a Celtic cross and overlaid with the Irish Harp, two screw post fasteners, the maker’s mark WD & S, the date letter covered by the harp mount but is almost certainly Birmingham 1916; the pouch badge of similar format but with a central mount comprising a crowned Harp, two screw post fasteners, hall marked W D & S Birmingham 1916; the whistle guard of distinctive pattern, the circular disc with raised Celtic knot design around the rim and central mount and further Celtic knot design around the central knop, provision for anchoring the whistle chains, two screw post fasteners, hall marked W D & S Birmingham 1916. Together with a constable’s white metal whistle stamped ‘The Metropolitan Patent Royal Irish Constabulary’ very good overall condition (4) £1000-1200
