Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford mint, Shilling, 1644, mm. Shrewsbury plume on obv. only, large bust with jewelled armour and lozenge stops on obv., Declaration in three lines, three Shrewsbury plumes above, date and ox below, pellet stops, 5.70g/6h (Morr. D-11; SCBI Brooker 945, same dies; N 2449; S 2974). On a slightly creased full flan, slightly double-struck on reverse, otherwise about very fine and toned, the die combination rare £400-£500
