Charles I (1625-1649), Newark, Shilling, 1645, tall jewelled crown, 10 pearls either side of orb, from the same rev. die as previous, reads newarke, 5.45g/12h (Hird 252-3 and SCBI Brooker 1224, same dies; N 2640; S 3142). One side partially weak, otherwise very fine and virtually as struck, large flan £1,200-£1,500
