John Osborne Jones, a native of Brecon, was born in 1896 and attested for the South Wales Borderers. He served with the 1/1st Brecknock Battalion during the Great War in the Asiatic theatre of War, landing at Aden on 3 July 1915. He was discharged on 11 January 1920.

George Cheek attested for the South Wales Borderers and served with the 10th Battalion during the Great War from its first arrival on the Western Front on 3 December 1915. He also served in the 2nd, 11th, and 6th Battalions. He was discharged to the Class Z reserve on 12 February 1919.
