B-4; SCBI Brooker 878; N 2409; S 2950). On a large flan, good fine, rare £500-£700

This coin is illustrated in H.W. Morrieson’s article ‘The Coinage of Oxford, 1642-46’ (BNJ XVI [1921-2], pl. III, 31). It was quite possibly the first coin in lot 517 of the Morrieson sale, but this cannot now be proven
