A German Third Reich, Weimar/Kriegsmarine Officer’s Dagger. An extremely nice condition plain double fuller bladed naval officers dagger. WKC Knights head logo to one side of the flat upper section of the blade. To the reverse side a very deep Weimar eagle over ‘M’ for Marine stamping with the following stamping of ‘0.558’. The blade is mint bright, all of the fittings retain excellent colour and some light traces of gilding to the cross guard and Third Reich pommel. Undamaged celluloid grip with all wire wrap present, with its original silver portapee which has toned to a gold hue. The scabbard is without any indentations and with roped ring suspension bands, the rings themselves are plain. Unusually the dagger cross guard has never been fitted with a push button for releasing the blade from the scabbard as on most Kriegsmarine officers daggers. The steel internal catch is present, the dagger releases easily from the scabbard when manually depressed. To the upper reverse side of the scabbard is the matching ‘0.558’ numbering as the blade, good condition £600-£800
