The Bombay Presidency Olympic Association was established by Sir Dorabji Tata (1859-1932), scion of the Tata industrial empire, whose passion for sport led him to fund three places for Indians at the Antwerp Games in 1920 and then the entire Indian team at the Paris Olympics of 1924, at which his wife competed in the ladies tennis doubles
