Eardley John Norton (1852-1931), educ. Merton College, Oxford; called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, 1876; barrister in Madras from 1879 to 1906. Norton was appointed a member of the committee which drafted the constitution of the Indian National Congress in 1887. He retired to Bexley, Kent
