A 1768 Pattern Grenadier’s Fur Cap Plate.
An extremely fine and most rare example. In die-stamped tin plate the obverse ‘silvered’ and black japanned (275mm x 121mm). The design features the Hanoverian Motto, ‘Nec Aspera Terrent’ the Royal Crest, ‘GR’ cypher and a Sovereign’s helm, sixteen sewing holes along the base, the reverse with correct narrow lapping, some age rusting behind the sewing holes otherwise in very good condition £1,000-£1,400
