M.S.M. London Gazette 14 May 1920: ‘In recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with operations on the North-West Frontier, India:- 200909 Cpl. Belshaw, F., 4th Bn., Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (Atherton).’

M.S.M. is unique to the regiment for Afghanistan. Belshaw’s I.G.S. is confirmed on the roll of the 1st Garrison Battalion, O.B.L.I., ‘attch. 52 Wing, R.A.F. (Originally 4th Bn.), one of only 3 I.G.S. medals for Afghanistan to the battalion.
