Albert William Franklin was born at Overthorpe, Northants, and enlisted into the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Banbury, Oxon. He was serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment, No. 30008, when he was killed in action on 3 September 1916. He is buried in Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt.
