George Cecil Richards attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1934. He appears on the 1935 Jubilee Medal Roll for India, as Company Sergeant Major, 2nd Battalion O.B.L.I., and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal without annuity per Army Order 98 of 1953.
