‘Foreign Officer, 5 August, with regard to the rescue of the crew of the Eunity R. Dyer. Resolved that the Bronze Medal of the Society of Lloyd’s be bestowed upon Chief Officer Frank Albert Crossland and Able Seaman David Grant, Peter Bruce and George Mitchell of the British steamship Stag as an honorary acknowledgement of their extra ordinary excertions in contributing to the saving of life on the occasion of the loss of the American vessel Eunity R. Dyer on 1 March 1896’ (Ref. Lloyd’s Committee Book, 1896).
