Clifton College Medal for Life Saving, by Pinches, London, obverse, nude athlete about to throw a discus, reverse, armorial shield and motto of the college (J. J. Shearsby, For Saving Life, July 1897), 44mm., silver, with straight bar suspension, mounted as worn, in case, on the inside of the lid, in gilt lettering on leather is inscribed, ‘Presented to J. J. Shearsby by the Rev. J. M. Wilson on behalf of the boys of Clifton College in recognition of saving life during the past 14(?) years’, ref. M.J.P. 32, slight cut to rim, otherwise, good very fine £120-160
