M.I.D. London Gazette 30 January 1920: ‘For valuable services rendered whilst prisoners of war or interned.’

Stanley Atwill Waldron was born in about 1899. He served during the Great War as a Private in the 7th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry, during which he was made a prisoner of war. He afterwards entered the Civil Service and for many years was Chief Customs Officer and Board of Trade Superintendent at the port of Milford Haven. He was appointed a Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant in the Accountant Branch (Registrar Class) of the Royal Naval Reserve on 24 April 1934, and became the Registrar of the R.N.R. at Milford Haven. He was appointed Paymaster Lieutenant (Registrar Class) in April 1936 and Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander (Supply and Secretariat) in April 1944.

Waldron received the Royal Naval Reserve Decoration in 1954 (London Gazette 13 August 1954). He also served with the Sea Cadet Corps for many years and was appointed a Lieutenant-Commander (Special Branch), Sea Cadet Corps, on 18 November 1950. He was Commanding Officer of the Milford Haven Sea Cadets and was also District Chairman. IN the Birthday Honours of 1970 he was awarded the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate for his services to the Sea Cadet Corps, Lieutenant-Commander Waldron died in hospital at Plymouth on 28 July 1970.
