Three: Air Mechanic 1st Class T. J. Davidson, Royal Air Force, late 20th Battalion London Regiment

Thomas Joseph Davidson was born in Bermondsey, London. A Driver by occupation, he enlisted in to the 20th Battalion London Regiment on 30 September 1913. He proceeded to France with the 1st/20th on 9 March 1915. He suffered slight shell shock and was treated on 28 May 1915 by the 4th London Field Ambulance Unit. He returned to base at Etaples on 31 May and was then treated for a hernia at Le Havre on 11 July 1915, being returned to reinforcements on 15 July 1915. Discharged from the Army, he enlisted as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class in the Royal Flying Corps on 22 July 1916 and served with No.25 Squadron, returning to France on 2 October 1916 and being promoted to Air Mechanic 1st Class on 1 January 1917. After being transferred to the Royal Air Force he was promoted to Corporal Mechanic on 23 April 1918 and on that same day was posted home to 33 Station at Doncaster. He remained there until 15 January 1919 when he moved to 46 T.D.S. and thence to Crystal Palace on 1 February 1919. Davidson was transferred to the General Reserve on 30 March 1919.
