Awards to women in the police force are scarce.

Linah Sunganaka, who was born in June 1956 and from the Marandellas District of Rhodesia, joined the British South Africa Police in January 1976. She subsequently served for 20 years, latterly in the Zimbabwe Republic Police, and was awarded her Rhodesia General Service Medal in January 1979, when stationed at Umtali Central Police Station.
