At a time when standards of coin production in India had widely declined, the rare coins of Sasanka stand out for the quality of the workmanship, which is often high, and the novelty of the obverse type. The present coin is of good style and perhaps finer than the coin in the 'Skanda' collection which was probably the finest assembly of Indian gold coins to beoffered in recent years
