An early 18th century gold posy ring, of rectangular cross-section and engraved to the inner band in large script ‘Long Last our Love’, diameter 20mm, width 5mm. £500-£700
This ring was found in Hampshire. Being less than 300 years old, the finder was not obliged to record it with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, and the ring was returned.
The same inscription is recorded by Evans ‘x Long x last x our x love x’ in the British Museum Collection, Franks Bequest, Ref 1246. BM Registration number AF. 1327.
