Bewley and Draper were a successful company and Drapers Ink an extremely popular and long lived product. Indeed, this advert was produced several years after the death of its inventor, the original Mr Draper - Harry Napier Draper (1837-92) - a renowned Irish pharmacist of his day. He was so successful that at the time of his death (suicide, by taking cyanide) he left an estate of over £93,000.
