Assorted silver flatwares, comprising:
two fiddle pattern serving spoons by William Eley, London 1841,
an Old English pattern serving spoon, by maker W S, London 1799,
a pair of of salad servers by Jackson & Fullerton, London 1902,
two spoons later decorated as ‘berry’ spoons, London 1792 and 1795,
and a Canova pattern dessert spoon and fork by Chawner & Co (George William Adams), London 1859. (9)
£300-£500

Canova pattern was first produced circa 1850 and exhibited by Chawner & Co. at the Great Exhibition, 1851, being based on Canova’s ‘Hebe’, ‘Sappho’, and the ‘Dancing Girl Reposing’. It appears to have been produced only for dessert services and even these are very rare.
