Kirkwood], named (To John Knowles, Findon, 1859), 35mm, 26.73g (Brodie 99), another, named (John Robson, Bighouse, For aged Cheviot Tup, 1895), 30mm, 14.02g (cf. DNW 46, 723); a silver award medal by J. Moore, named (Awarded to Sir R. Abercromby Bart, Forglen, for best selection Potatoes, Spring Show, Turriff, 1892), 38mm, 22.04g [3]. First very fine and toned but with obverse rim knock at 10 o’clock, integral suspension loop, others about extremely fine and better £70-£90

Sir Robert John Abercromby, 7th Bt (1850-95); b London; educ. Eton; inherited the family estates in Scotland and Ireland, including Forglen House, Turriff, 1872; Deputy Lieutenant of Banffshire, 1874, and of Aberdeenshire, 1876; JP and chairman of the Parochial Board; his latter years were marred by ill-health and he died at the age of 45.
