The Caesarians, Julius Caesar, Denarius, January - February 44, struck under the moneyer M. Mettius, caesar imp, laureate bust of Julius Caesar right, lituus and simpulum behind, rev. m. mettivs, Venus standing left, holding Victory and sceptre, shield set on globe behind, g in field, 3.72g/6h (Craw. 480/3; BMCRR 4143; RSC 34). Good fine, the obverse well centred and clear £400-£500
