Our team of experts, who include a widely published and experienced former detectorist, specialise in ancient and British hammered coins, ancient jewellery and other artefacts. Recent sales include a Roman gold aureus found by a detectorist in a Kent field, which we hammered for £460,000, and a Tudor diamond and enamel heart ring discovered near the reputed site of a Windsor hunting lodge used by Henry VII.

A member of our Antiquities team is an independent valuer consulted by the Treasure Valuation Committee and we are extremely diligent in confirming the legality and provenance of items we handle. Establishing and documenting the provenance of finds is not only the responsible thing to do but can also be a significant factor in their value. We offer a complete range of services to detectorists, helping to log their finds with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, create an accurate catalogue description and connect sellers with the widest possible pool of potential buyers.
