Garrard produced this limited edition 18 carat gold coin watch to commemorate the 80th year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

With a signed dial, manual winding movement and snap-on back, the watch comes cleverly concealed as a gold coin.

The hinged cover is finely engraved with Her Majesty’s portrait, the reserve with her personal Coat of Arms, while the cover opens by depressing a concealed thumbpiece in the band.

This example is numbered 80/80. At just 34mm in diameter and with a depth of 4mm, it easily resembles a coin.

Offered with a certificate, presentation case, original packaging, correspondence with Garrard, plus the invoice and original newspaper advertisement, it sold over its £2,000-£3,000 to take £3,800.
